Once In A Lifetime Sessions is an original and unique music documentary series giving viewers the chance to get up close and personal with a specially chosen selection of today’s most celebrated music icons – including Moby, TLC, Nile Rodgers and Noel Gallagher. Filmed on location at some of the greatest studios around the world, the Sessions highlight the craftsmanship, artistic depth, incredible skill and talent of the artists whilst also showcasing their catalogue. Each episode is dedicated to a single artist or group and features both an intimate live performance and a vinyl recording session. These are woven together with exclusive interview footage and a masterclass exploring the stories behind some of the most memorable songs of all time.
As one of the world’s most successful female group of all time, TLC have stormed the charts all over the world. In Once In A Lifetime Sessions with TLC their incredible story is told through their own words and music, citing their meteoric rise to fame as well as their heartache in tragically losing a member of the band. Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas and Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins are filmed at The Village Studios in LA where they reflect on their rise to fame, their involvement in female empowerment as well as the time they held infamous record producer Clive Davis hostage...
This Session sees TLC perform live in West Hollywood in front of an intimate crowd, wowing the audience with an unrivalled set list of global hits including; What About Your Friends, Baby-Baby-Baby, Creep, Red Light Special, Diggin’ on You, Fanmail, Silly Ho, Meant To Be, Joyride, Haters, and their timeless classic Waterfalls.
In the vinyl studio session, TLC lay down new covers of their most recent tracks Way Back and It’s Sunny, as well two of their most famous hits Unpretty and No Scrubs, before delivering a masterclass giving insights and stories behind their songs to provide fans with a long awaited once in a lifetime experience.
Hailed as the man that brought dance music to the masses, Moby has carved a career over the course of nearly 30 years, selling over 20 million records worldwide. In Once In A Lifetime Sessions with Moby, he speaks about how he never thought he had a place being a rock star, how he secured his first gig and how he curated the revolutionary Natural Blues.
In this Session, filmed at East West Studios in LA, Moby performs a truly intimate live gig with stunning performances of some of his biggest hits, including Body Rock, Go, Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?, South Side, A Dark Cloud Is Coming, Lift Me Up and Like A Motherless Child.
The vinyl recording session sees Moby laying down new acoustic covers of some of the most atmospheric songs of all time; Porcelain and Almost Home alongside new takes on his modern hits The Sorrow Tree and The Wild Darkness. He then delivers a masterclass giving insights into the intricate work that goes into creating iconic dance hits like Natural Blues, Extreme Ways and We Are All Made Of Stars. This illuminating session reveals the mind behind the music and provides fans with a truly once in a life time experience.
In Once In A Lifetime Sessions with Noel Gallagher, the legendary songwriter travels on a journey back to his early days as a member of ground-breaking rock band Oasis. From their very first gig at the local Boardwalk club in Manchester, to meteoric sell out shows at Knebworth, attracting over 125,000 fans a night, Noel reflects on the hectic lifestyle that unfolded alongside the rising success of the band and his subsequent solo career as front man of Noel Gallagher’s High-Flying Birds.
This Session sees Noel performing live in front of an intimate audience at London’s iconic Metropolis Studios, with a set list featuring Oasis’ hits Half the World Away and Listen Up, combined with his recent work, entertaining the audience with Everybody’s On The Run, Listen Up, Broken Arrow, While The Song Remains The Same and Riverman.
In the vinyl recording session, Noel lays down new covers of some of Oasis’ all-time classics – Supersonic, Wonderwall and the anthemic Don’t Look Back in Anger, before delivering a masterclass where he recounts the stories and history behind Talk Tonight and What A Life!, as well as one of the most iconic songs of today, Wonderwall - providing fans with a truly once in a lifetime experience with one of their favourite artists of all time.
Not only has Nile Rodgers mastered the art of producing, song writing and composing – he’s also the lead guitarist and co-founder of the greatest ever live dance band, CHIC. Once In A Lifetime Sessions with Nile Rodgers sees Nile discuss the passion and faith he holds for his music which lead to the rise of CHIC, the careful politics of working in a recording studio and his relationship with legendary bassist Bernard Edwards.
In this Session Nile performs live on stage, with his legendary band, CHIC, in London, raising the roof with classic hits including I’m Coming Out, Dance Dance Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah), Le Freak, Lost in Music, We are Family and freestyling while ending the show with an audience immersive medley take on Good Times / Rapper’s Delight.
In the vinyl recording session Nile lays down new versions of some of his most iconic songs; Everybody Dance, I Want Your Love, Good Times and a rendition of Let’s Dance, a track he famously produced for David Bowie. Delivering a masterclass, he deconstructs classics, Everybody Dance and Good Times, as well as discussing his hit collaboration with Daft Punk on Get Lucky, giving a fascinating insight into the inner workings of a modern day musical genius and providing a truly once in a lifetime experience for fans new and old.
